Valpar Pro3000 Training

Location: Western Technlogy Center, Weatherford, OK (fly into Oklahoma City)

Topics thoroughly covered in the course:

Introduction to the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT), Revised Handbook for Analyzing Jobs (RHAJ) and the Guide to Occupational Exploration (GOE)
Background and development of Pro-3000 in relation to these tools
Introduction to the structure of the Department of Labor classification codes and their use in job searches.
Discussion of norm-referenced and criterion referenced testing.
Management tasks and entering customized data identified as necessary by your facility.
Using the Work History module to create a transferable skills profile.
In depth, hands-on experience with each Compass subtest including administration, scoring, and interpretation.
Analysis of Compass and Quick Check/raw data review reports.
Implications and impact of retesting.
In depth, hands-on experience with PET, TECO, Spatial/Non-verbal Survey and the Pictorial Interest Survey including administration, scoring and interpretation.
Building composite Personal Qualifications Profiles.
Use of Pro-3000 with various target population groups and potential service areas
Generation, interpretation and the use of reports.
Customizing Pro-3000 reports.
Entering and using search information.
Browsing database modules (DOT, O-NET, Career Planner and databases incorporated in the DOT) with search levels for various objectives.

Topics introduced in the course:

Current/Potential/Advancement search logic.
Limiting ability factors and their impact on searches or job matches.
Filling and using the Local Job Database

Your Trainer:

Maria Patrick Oakley, MS, CRC, ABDA is the principal partner in Patrick Oakley Associates, Inc. and a private consultant in rehabilitation. She has 20 years of experience providing vocational evaluations for individuals referred by Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID), the VR in New York State, the Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH), school districts, insurance companies, the Veterans’ Administration and Native American rehabilitation services. She provides technical consulting and expert testimony to Workers’ Compensation, local law firms and school districts. She has worked for a number of years as a trainer and technical consultant for the federal Regional Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program (RRCEP-II), International Center for the Disabled (ICD), New York State Special Education Teacher’s Resource Centers (SETRC) and Valpar International.
