Tech Prep
(Windows Version)
Tech prep is a way for students to start preparing for a "high-skill" career while still in high school. It's designed to give students academic and work-related skills. It's often called "2+2" because in many school districts it consists of the last two years of high school, followed by two years of community college or technical college. In some places it's called "4+2" because it covers all four years of high school.
- Tech prep programs organize the training for high-skill careers into "clusters" such as:
Agriculture
Arts/Humanities
Business/Information Services
Engineering/Industrial
Health/Human Services
The SIGI PLUS program allows institutions/school districts to insert customized information about local tech prep programs into SIGI PLUS and lets students search and create a list of occupations by tech prep cluster in their area.
