The Preston Mill, near East Linton in East Lothian. It is a renovated flour mill, owned by the National Trust for Scotland. John's father, Ernest Weierter, like his Uncle Louis, had an artistic side, and once drew this mill. It is one of several locations in Scotland that he drew, including a number of sites in Corstorphine that were made into tourist postcards.

Scot's View offers a sweeping view of the wide Tweed valley and the triple peaks of the Eildon Hills (reputed to be the legendary sleeping place of King Arthur and his knights.) It was Sir Walter Scott's favorite view in Scotland. He came here so often, that during his funeral parade, his horses stopped here automatically because they always stopped here with their master.
At the Museum of Flight. A plaque just like this is supposed to be in Mineola, LI.
